The Bank of New York Mellon BOLD shares initiative, in partnership with Howard University and its GRACE Grant, converts investment returns into scholarships for students in need. We shot documentary-style in Washington, DC to highlight how America's oldest bank is giving back to one of its most storied HBCUs. In 1966, my father, as a student in need, was accepted to the University of Michigan as a part of its first class under Affirmative Action. Getting to tell this story felt personal.
